Vintage & Vineyard
In 2005, a warm late winter instigated early bud break, but cool, wet weather in spring set back vine development. Unseasonably cool temperatures persisted throughout summer, slowing the pace of ripening. Fortunately, classic Indian summer weather arrived in September, fully ripening the Sauvignon Blanc grapes in the Loney Vineyard in southeastern Napa Valley.

Winemaking
The grapes were whole-cluster-pressed and fermented in stainless steel tanks at cold temperature to retain as much fruit as possible. A special yeast was used to optimize varietal aromas, and the wine was bottled soon after harvest to preserve its fresh, vibrant flavors.

Winemaker’s Notes
Our 2005 Sauvignon Blanc exemplifies the balanced, elegant style we strive for with this classic variety. Forward citrus, melon and mineral aromas introduce crisp, vibrant flavors which culminate in a long, refreshing finish. Enjoy it with sushi, shellfish, crab cakes, lighter fish and poultry dishes, and spicy Asian cuisines.
