| Vintage & Vineyard |
The 2004 growing season along California’s Central Coast produced exceptionally rich, full-bodied Syrahs, the result of warm weather in September that brought the grapes to full maturity. The fruit for this wine came from a single vineyard in the well-situated Arroyo Seco region of Monterey County , which is renowned for its high-quality fruit.

| Winemaking |
Most of the fruit was crushed and de-stemmed, but as in the Rhône Valley, a portion was retained as whole clusters and underwent a carbonic maceration, which accentuates fruit character. The juice fermented quickly at high temperatures to fully extract color, flavor and tannin, and the wine aged 22 months in French oak barrels before being bottled unfiltered. |

| Winemaker’s Notes |
| Our 2004 Syrah is a big, rich wine with lush, toasty aromas of ripe blackberries, stewed plums, sweet spice, wild herbs and the roasted character emblematic of this classic Northern Rhone variety. On the palate, it offers opulent, savory black fruit flavors with smooth, well-rounded tannins, impeccable balance and a long, spicy finish. Enjoy this succulent beauty with anything off the grill, hearty pastas and stews, barbecued chicken and ribs and flavorful cheeses.
